Saturday August 11, 1-5pm

Hosted in a Nelson County Retreat House-

245 Blundell Hollow Afton, VA 22920

In response to the one-year anniversary of the tragic events in Charlottesville on August 12th and the ongoing abuses of power and inequality dominant in our society, this gathering offers a space to explore the issues of racism and white male dominance through contemplative practice and social meditation.

We are born into a culture of ignorance and White Supremacy, we can’t escape it, therefore it is our collective responsibility to recognize and transform these dynamics within ourselves and our society.  As Zen teacher and author Rev. Angel Kyodo Williams states,

“Without inner change, there can be no outer change, without collective change no change matters” (Radical Dharma; Talking Race, Love and Liberation).
